Terms of Service

Veto is a deterministic safety and cost gate that helps your AI agent avoid dangerous SQL. It is an advisory aid, not a guarantee — you stay responsible for what your agent ultimately runs.

1. Introduction & acceptance

Veto (the service at vetosql.com and its MCP endpoint) is operated by MetaWear s.r.o., IČ 14338017, Sládkova 372/8, Moravská Ostrava, 702 00 Ostrava, Czech Republic (Regional Court in Ostrava, file no. C 88655) ("we", "us"). By connecting to or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Veto on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

2. What the service does

Veto analyses Postgres SQL and returns a deterministic verdict — ok, warn, or block — together with finding ids. It runs as an MCP tool your agent calls before executing a statement. Veto does not execute your SQL and never connects to your database. Cost estimates run on a disposable scratch database that is always rolled back.

3. Advisory nature — no warranty of safety

This is the most important section. Veto is a guardrail, not a guarantee. Its rules are intentionally narrow: an ok verdict means no rule fired, not that a statement is safe, correct, or cheap in your specific environment. You — and the systems you operate — remain solely responsible for reviewing and deciding what to execute against your database. Do not rely on Veto as your only safeguard; keep backups and appropriate access controls. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to overload, disrupt, or circumvent the rate limits or security of the service; resell or redistribute the service as your own; reverse-engineer it to build a competing product; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Plans & billing

Veto offers a free tier and a paid Pro tier. Pro is sold through Polar, which acts as our merchant of record and handles payment, invoicing, applicable taxes, and refunds. Purchases are therefore also subject to Polar's terms. Refunds are handled under Polar's policy and any mandatory EU consumer rights that apply to you.

6. License keys

A Pro plan is tied to a license key. Keep it secret — you are responsible for all activity carried out with your key. Tell us promptly at info@metawear.cz if you believe it has been compromised.

7. Custom org policies (Pro)

Pro lets you define custom org policies that Veto enforces on top of its built-in rules. You are responsible for the policies you configure and their effect on your verdicts. Policies are declarative data — validated and never executed.

8. Intellectual property

The service, its rules, and its content are owned by MetaWear s.r.o. You retain all rights to the SQL and schemas you submit; we claim no ownership over them.

9. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but offer no service-level guarantee, particularly on the free tier. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes affecting paid plans.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MetaWear s.r.o. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of or damage to data, arising from your use of — or reliance on — the service. Veto never connects to or modifies your database, so it cannot itself alter your data; any action taken as a result of a verdict is your decision and your responsibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify MetaWear s.r.o. against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. liability, IP, governing law) survive termination.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in Ostrava. If you are an EU consumer, mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence are not affected.

TL;DR: Veto is a deterministic advisory gate — it never runs or touches your database, and an ok isn't a promise of safety. You decide what to execute. Pro is billed via Polar. Czech law applies.
